Holloway & Sons

An editorial, photography-led site for a fictional third-generation London plumber: film heroes, a water shader drawn in hairlines, published prices and a copy voice that sounds like the firm.

The project

Holloway & Sons is a fictional third-generation plumbing firm from Holloway Road — invented to show what a magazine-grade editorial system looks like on a trade site. Achromatic ink-on-white, one typeface, hairline rules, and photography carrying all the warmth.

The craft is in the details: a seamless time-lapse film in the hero and the about section, a WebGL water surface drawn as contour hairlines under the process list and the footer, a falling-drop cursor with splashes, published inc-VAT prices with dotted leaders, and a live 'Open now' clock on London time.

What's inside
  • Two seamless background films (hero time-lapse light, about portrait) with a pause control
  • WebGL water-surface shader drawn in hairline contours, rippling under the cursor
  • Falling-drop cursor with splash particles on fast moves
  • Published price list with dotted leaders, inc-VAT
  • Live 'Open now · closes 18:00' status on London time
  • Static-file build: Lighthouse 97/100/100/100 on mobile
